Steel Yard Ceramicists & NCECA

Wednesday night I stopped by the Dean Hotel to check out work from The Steel Yard’s ceramicists. I had seen pictures prior to the event, but it was nice to see the work in person. What was even better was promoting the work and the artists to NCECA conference attendees this morning whilst waiting for my amazing chemex coffee.

If you didn’t know, the NCECA conference has a section that is open to the public (Exhibition Hall D at the conference center) and I found it to be a great way to sample what the conference is all about. There was a great energy on the floor and I definitely had to jostle my way through a few gallery booths to check out work. Heck there was a travelling AIRSTREAM GALLERY inside the hall! If you can, I do recommend checking it out, seeing the works of so many amazing ceramicists from around the country, and perhaps buying the things that I couldn’t buy.

Kim Murton, This reminds me of crazy so many things... Aaaah! Real Monsters amongst them.
