Parreeee! at UMass Dartmouth Gallery

With all the Providence International Arts Festival shenanigans going on right now, you’d think that I would have stayed in town tonight. Instead I made the journey down to New Bedford for AHA! Night and the reception for Parreeee! at the UMass Dartmouth Galleries. While I know the director there and try to make it over when I can, I especially wanted to head over to support two of the selected artists. There was the added bonus of a brief artist talk from the majority of the artists, which gave some lovely insights into the experiences and stories behind each piece.

This is a juried exhibition centered around the concept of, you guessed it, Paris and our perceptions of French culture. Though the perceptions are not just American centric as there were artists of Italian and Bulgarian origins with a Parisian expat as well in the mix.
