Not Gone… I SWEAR!

Hello all!

I’m sure you’ve all been wondering what’s been up with the blog lately. Heck, I haven’t even logged in since my last excuse driven post. I guess the blog is just on hold for now with everything that’s been going on.

My adopted grandmother died on September 7th. She was my confidant, therapist, and probably the person who knew and understood me best in this crazy world. I wasn’t expecting this loss as I figured I’d still have her for at least another decade. When you have another grandmother who is 95, you’re easily deluded into thinking that people live that long anyways. Especially fighters… and Gramma Fran was a fighter I can tell you that. I’m glad that I got to see her in August briefly to say my good byes, but it’s going to be awhile before I feel alright again. If you know me and see me around, there’s no need to give condolences. I’d rather not think about it in public just yet. Just trying to navigate this crazy world without her.

In the world of the 95 year old grandmother, we are probably well into the last of her days. She’s another fighter who could probably go for years like this if she was determined to, but her body is failing her. My free time is pretty much spent at her house when I can get there. We’ve surrounded her with love… pretty much all we can do.

So as you can see… it’s been a very weird few weeks with some heavy downs to counteract all the crazy good. I ran/walked a 10k, I’ve got several shows that I need to come up with plans for, I got a scholarship to attend a conference, and in AMAZING NEWS: I’m going to LONDON!!!

It’ll be awhile before the blog is back on a schedule, but until then please feel free to follow my adventures on Instagram or Twitter. It’s the easiest way to keep things going right now, but I am still out and about. Just recalibrating so to speak.

Long story short: Grief sucks, but I’ll be back soon.

Abigael, I hope you’ll be sharing some more of your posts again. But I get that you need to take some time away from the push of blogging.
